Willawyn Rottweilers - About Us
Welcome to Willawyn Rottweilers! We are located in Augusta, Georgia.
My husband and I bought our first rottweiler in 1992, and we have
been in love with this noble breed ever since. We began showing
our dogs in AKC conformation, rally, and obedience in the Spring
of 2005. Our dogs are AKC and UKC registered, and are also registered
therapy dogs with Therapy
Dogs Inc.
We are not only involved in rottweilers, but also in the clubs
that support the sport of dogs.
We are both members of the American
Rottweiler Club and I am the BSL Liaison for the state of Georgia,
and also the club's webmaster. I am also a member of the Dogwood
Rottweiler Club of Metropolitan Atlanta, where I am webmaster
and legislative liaison, and the Augusta
Kennel Club, where I am vice president, webmaster and Show Chairman
for our Fall show, Match Secretary for our Fall match, and Obedience
Chairman for our Spring show. I am also on the show committee for
the Peach
Blossom Cluster Dog Shows, where I am the obedience committee
chair and webmaster.
We strongly believe that the ideal rottweiler is a well rounded
and sound working dog, possessing a stable temperament, high working
drive and ability, genetic and physical soundness, with proper structure
and breed type.
My passion is obedience training, and because this is a working
breed, I am a firm believer that every rottweiler should be trained
and titled to a minimum of a CD or BH. Rottweilers are a versatile
breed that can excel in many different sports, but obedience training
is the foundation for all of them.
Willawyn Rottweilers is not a breeding kennel and we do not have
plans to breed rottweilers now or at any time in the near future.
Our belief is that a rottweiler must have it all - physical beauty
according to the breed standard, breed type, brains, working ability,
health clearances, pedigree and stable temperament before being
considered for any breeding program. It is also my belief that a
rottweiler should also be titled at both ends, and that only the
best representatives of the breed with the complete package should
be in a breeding program with the goal of achieving the ideal rottweiler.
